An Association, a Benefit Trust, and affiliate national PPO Network combine efforts to form a physician sponsored cooperative known as Physicians Health. Physicians Health was created with the purpose of protecting the integrity of the individual practice of medicine, increasing the quality of the physician-patient relationship and encouraging collaboration among physicians. The cooperative has a synergistic effect resulting in a unique healthcare delivery model that enables physicians to regain control of their profession.

How It Works

The Association encourages intelligent organization and sponsors an exclusive employee benefit program through a fully insured Benefit Trust with an established plan administrator. Association membership is leveraged to create group purchasing power providing a direct line to the benefits at a discount. This mechanism bypasses the middleman and eliminates the administration overhead that is usually passed on and absorbed by the physician employer in the form of high premiums.

The affiliate national PPO network supports the association and employee benefit program as patient referral source and group purchasing agent to speed reimbursements. The network is complimentary in that it is comprised of association members who in turn circulate value back to themselves (the physician community), furthering the strength and value of the cooperative.

Physicians Health Association (PHA), a Physicians Health cooperative partner, is a non-profit organization that offers a safe environment for physicians and physician groups to intelligently organize and serves as a vehicle to achieve group purchasing power on behalf of its members. Physicians Health Benefit Trust (PHBT), a Physicians Health cooperative partner, is a fully insured trust through which PHA offers a unique dual-option employee benefits plan at discounted rates to eligible physicians and physician groups. All healthcare benefits are guaranteed for the full amount by certain qualified “A” rated and better Underwriters at Lloyd’s London. Claims administration is provided by Medical Benefits Administrator of MD, Inc (MBA), and a specialist in administering plans for associations.
